Plaster

Plaster Challenges

In actual construction, plaster often suffers from problems such as poor workability, rapid drying leading to cracking, insufficient adhesion, and uneven surface, resulting in:

  • The mortar is difficult to smooth and level, reducing construction efficiency.
  • Cracks occur due to drying shrinkage after construction, affecting durability.
  • The mortar does not bond firmly to the substrate and is prone to detachment.
  • It affects the decorative effect of walls or ceilings.

Adding appropriate functional additives to plastering mortar can effectively address the above problems and enhance its various properties.

Celotech Plaster Solution

Each additive has a different function, but when combined, they create high-quality plaster.

  • Cellulose Ethers: Improve water retention, bond strength, and workability.
  • Redispersible Polymer Powder(RDP): Helps plaster adhere better to the substrate and improves its flexibility.
  • Starch Ethers: Adjust the rheological properties of the mortar, thereby improving its anti-slip properties and workability.
  • Cellulose Fibers: Absorb and store moisture, releasing it when needed. It improves the mortar’s water retention and crack resistance.
  • Calcium Formate: Accelerates cement hydration process.

Note: Please optimize use based on the mortar system, construction conditions, and required performance. Before large-scale construction, conduct small-scale tests to confirm the additive’s compatibility with the mortar system.

Celotech Plaster Solution Advantages

This solution helps improve the workability and performance of plastering mortar:

  • Improved Workability: Good fluidity, easy to smooth, and high construction efficiency.
  • Enhanced Crack Resistance: The fiber network, combined with the mortar system, significantly reduces drying-shrinkage cracks.
  • Optimized Adhesion: The mortar bonds more firmly to the substrate, reducing the risk of detachment.
  • Improved Appearance: A smooth, defect-free surface after construction enhances the decorative effect.
  • High Adjustability: By combining different additives, the formula can be tailored to various construction environments and performance requirements.

Typical Applications

1. Interior Wall Plastering Mortar: Used on interior walls to improve surface smoothness and crack resistance.

2. Exterior Wall Plastering Mortar: Applied to exterior walls to enhance weather resistance and adhesion.

3. High Crack Resistance Plastering Mortar: Intended for walls that are prone to shrinkage cracks, both inside and outside.

4. High Adhesion Plastering Mortar: Designed for renovating old walls or building multi-layer wall systems.

5. Floor Leveling Mortar: Used on floors to improve fluidity and ease of application.

Frequently Asked Questions

After redispersible polymer powder is added into cement mortar, the tensile strength and flexural strength of mortar will be improved significantly, even the compressive strength won’t get significantly improved, even declined.

The reason is that the toughening effect of redispersible polymer powder has enhanced the internal tensile strength of mortar and the bonding tensile strength of interface, and improved the bonding tensile strength greatly between mortar and base material.

Plastering mortar is a mortar used for leveling walls or floor, prepared by mixing cementitious materials, fine aggregates, mineral admixtures, and additives in a certain ratio in a factory.
①Improve the wall’s resistance to moisture invasion, temperature fluctuations, chemical corrosion, external mechanical effects, and rainwater erosion; ② Make the wall flat, smooth, clean, and aesthetically pleasing.
