Celopre® EX5 is a cationic polymer modified from natural guar gum. It provides unsurpassed substantivity to both hair and skin while the polymer imparts outstanding conditioning properties. The normal use level is 0.2% by weight.
Celopre® EX5 is also a viscosifier and thickening agent with no buildup on hair. The uniqueness of this polymer is that it maintains clarity in surfactant systems. It is ideal thickener for transparent formulation for skin and hair conditioning including shampoos, cream rinses, bath and show products, facial cleaner, and styling gels.

Celopre® EX5 is primarily designed for use in shampoo formulations to enhance smoothness and wet-combing ease, reduce tangling and frizz, and improve the post-wash tactile feel (preventing dryness or a “stripped” sensation). Additionally, it provides mild thickening effects while maintaining fluidity, making it particularly well-suited for clear shampoo systems.

Celopre® EX5 is suitable for use in hair care formulations to impart smoothness and anti-static properties, and to enhance the silky feel of the hair, without causing significant product buildup. It is particularly well-suited for lightweight conditioners and daily-care products (non-heavy-oil types).

Celopre® EX5 serves to enhance skin softness (improving the post-wash skin feel), mitigate the irritation and dryness often associated with surfactants, and deliver a “non-tightening” sensation after washing. It is currently a widely utilized type of cationic polymer in mid-to-high-end shower gel formulations.
