Fast Dissolving HPMC CELOPRE® ME3 Applications

  • Pharmaceutical Film Coating

    Pharmaceutical Film Coating

CELOPRE® ME3 can be used to tablet coating, capsule coating, taste masking, and appearance improvement (smoothness). Essentially, it “only affects the surface, not the structure.”

    Advantages

    • A viscosity of 2–3 mPa·s ensures excellent spray flow, preventing spray gun clogging.
    • It forms a uniform and extremely thin film, without affecting drug release.
    • It effectively masks taste, improving the patient’s medication experience.
    • It improves the smoothness of tablets/capsules, resulting in a better appearance.

Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) is a versatile cellulose derivative widely used across construction, pharmaceuticals, coatings, and food applications. Its primary functions—viscosity control, water retention, and film formation—make it essential for tile adhesives, dry-mix mortars, industrial coatings, and even pharma excipients.
HPMC can be divided into instant type (Surface treated) and hot soluble type (Non-surface treated). The instant product is rapidly dispersed in cold water and disappears into the water. At this time, the liquid has no viscosity because HPMC is only dispersed in water and there is no real dissolution.
Celotech Chemicals specializes in the production of Celopro® HPMC, designed for various applications, especially in the construction industry, dry-mix mortar formulations, tile adhesives, wall putties, and self-leveling compounds.
