Emulsion Polymerization

Emulsion Polymerization

Emulsion polymerization is the second most popular polymerization method after suspension polymerization. The advantages including fast emulsion polymerization, high product molecular weight, stable dispersion system, controllable and easier to achieve continuous operation, and the latex can be directly used as the final product.

Recommended Solutions

Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC)

HPMC has excellent dispersibility and thickening properties, and its aqueous solution has surface activity and can protect colloids.Recommend grade: Celopro®MK100, Celopro®MF50, Celopro®ME50, Celopro®ME15

Celopro® cellulose ether has high mechanical strength, flexibility, heat resistance and cold resistance, and has good compatibility with various resins and plasticizers.

Product Features and Advantages

1. Dispersibility

Celopro®Cellulose ether can reduce the interfacial tension between VCM and water, making the VCM uniformly and stably dispersed in the water medium to prevent the droplets from merging.

2. Thickening

Celopro®Cellulose ether can form a transparent viscous solution, increase the viscosity of the system, and contribute to the stable polymerization of PVC emulsion.

3. Thermal stability

Celopro®Cellulose ether has good thermal stability and can adapt to temperature changes during the polymerization of PVC emulsion.

4. Surface activity

The water solution of Celopro®Cellulose ether has delayed soluble property and can be used as a colloid protective agent to prevent polymer particles from agglomerating.

5. Lubricity

Celopro®Cellulose ether can increase the flexibility and plasticity of the polymer, and reduce the friction resistance between PVC particles, and then improve the solubility and processing performance.
