Celopro® HEB

Celotech’s Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (HEC) is synthesized by treating cellulose with ethylene oxide, which modifies its structural properties. The resulting HEC is a white to slightly off-white fibrous or granular powder, with a pH range of 6.0 to 8.5, a density of 1.8 to 3.0 g/cm³, and a particle size where at least 90% passes through an 80-mesh screen. Its viscosity spans a wide range, from 300 to 100,000 mPa.s, allowing for application versatility.
Celopro HEB products interact with water in coatings to form a colloidal matrix, increasing viscosity and consistency.
This thickening effect aids in rheology control contributes to film formation, and enhances wetting properties, which are essential for optimal adhesion, durability, and overall final coating performance.
