Q: What are the functions of waterproof mortar?

1.Prevent wall seepage Waterproof mortar is mainly used in the waterproof treatment of building walls. It can effectively prevent water seepage, enhance the water resistance of walls, prevent water seepage, and protect the structure and stability of buildings. 2.Prevent ground water seepage In basements, bathrooms, kitchens, and other places, the ground is often susceptible to water erosion, leading to water seepage. 1.Improve water retention:

Good water retention is a good guarantee for hydration of cement and the strength of mortar mainly depends on cement.

2.Improve water proofing

The most crucial point is its excellent waterproof performance. It should be able to block the penetration of water. After curing, it forms a continuous and dense waterproof layer, which can resist the penetration of water pressure and prevent water seepage under normal use conditions and a certain water pressure range.

3.Improve workability

It should have good plasticity and workability so that it can be easily applied to the construction surface, such as being able to be smoothly plastered on the wall or floor without excessive slumping or difficulty in shaping.

4.Improve adhesion

It needs to have strong adhesion to the base surface. For example, when used on concrete or brick surfaces, it can firmly adhere to them to prevent the mortar layer from detaching, ensuring that the waterproof layer can effectively play its role.

5.Improve durability

Waterproof mortar is required to have good durability. It can maintain its waterproof performance and mechanical properties for a long time, and is resistant to factors such as aging, chemical corrosion (such as the corrosion of weak acids and alkalis in the environment), and abrasion.
